FIFA Awards 2025: Dembele vs Yamal Again

It is the next tussle of stars that will feature Ousmane Dembele and Lamine Yamal as both have been in the shortlist to be featured in The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025. The second great head-to-head occurs after Dembele has just narrowly won the Ballon d’Or earlier this year.

Paris Saint-Germain has a tremendous number of players ranked among the best in FIFA; in the list of men players, Dembele, the winner of the best player individual award at Paris in September, leads the list of Paris Saint-Germain players. Teammates such as Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, and Nuno Mendes accompany him, and can be regarded as indicative of the PSG dominative season under Luis Enrique.

Yamal is just 18 but he has already become the new generation of Barcelona. His brilliant physique and manhood have received international applause, but still his father cutting comments after Ballon d’Or lost to Dembele are still in the soccer memory.

Stars of the Premier League are also not left out as Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and Cole Palmer of Chelsea joining Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe of PSG are some of the contestants.

In the nomination of coaches, Luis Enrique tops the Best Men’s Coach list following his coaching of PSG to the Champions League victory. Other players that cut include Liverpool’s Arne Slot, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, and Barcelona’s Hansi Flick.

On the woman front, the current Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmati heads a strong nomination list that includes Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea players. Lucy Bronze, Alessia Russo and Lauren James, all of England, have been credited with international and club performances. Ballon d’Or runner-up Mariona Caldentey of Arsenal is another player who wants to gain fame.

Sarina Wiegman, who led England to the European Championship, is one of the best nominees in the category of Best Women’s Coach, together with Renee Slegers of Arsenal and Sonia Bompastor of Chelsea.
