Florian Wirtz Joins Liverpool in Historic Transfer Deal

On Friday, British media reported that Liverpool signed Bayer Leverkusen offensive midfielder Florian Wirtz for 136.3 million euros ($156.75 million).

A report says Wirtz will sign a five-year contract for 117.5 million euros upfront and 18.8 million in options. Last season, the German scored 16 goals and 15 assists in 45 Leverkusen appearances.

Both Manchester City and Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich were interested in Wirtz, but the cost put them off. After the deal, Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson dubbed Wirtz a ‘exciting talent’, saying he brought them numerous issues while at Leverkusen.

He stated that his skills convinced him he could be the game’s future star. His performance against us was great. In the half space, running in behind, he caused problems “Robertson said.

“That showed me he’ll be a top player. The Germany team against us had him in great form.

A promising prospect if we get him through. We have promising talent. This talented player will only assist us. We’ll relish playing with him if he gets through the door.”
