On Friday, British media reported that Liverpool signed Bayer Leverkusen offensive midfielder Florian Wirtz for 136.3 million euros ($156.75 million).
A report says Wirtz will sign a five-year contract for 117.5 million euros upfront and 18.8 million in options. Last season, the German scored 16 goals and 15 assists in 45 Leverkusen appearances.
Both Manchester City and Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich were interested in Wirtz, but the cost put them off. After the deal, Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson dubbed Wirtz a ‘exciting talent’, saying he brought them numerous issues while at Leverkusen.
