A new sporting year has begun in the world of football, bringing a host of different matters to the fore in front of FIFA. One of these relates to the allocation of referees who will officiate in competitions sanctioned by the organization.
The International Football Federation has made public the list of Colombian referees cleared to officiate in the 2025 Club World Cup, which, in the middle of the year, is going to have a new format with 32 teams participating and, something very important, a good number of them being women.
In that respect, FIFA referees undertake work in the qualifiers of the 2026 World Cup and in the friendlies between national representative teams. This year, popular Colombian referees also take part when working for this year’s endeavors, such as Carlos Ortega, Nicolás Gallo, Jhon Hinestroza y Wilmar Roldán.
