Ruben Amorim claimed he would rather have Marcus Rashford on Sunday’s 1-0 victory against Fulham on the bench than a custodian coach.
Rashford has not played for United since mid-December after confessing he was prepared for a new challenge in his career. He wasn’t in the team’s Sunday’s limited Premier League travel party. He has always called on full effort from his players even though his squad is suffering under Amorim.
“It’s always the same reason,” Marcus Rashford’s latest absence’s explanation from Ruben Amorim informed reporters. “We educate the way I believe a football player should be trained.
“Every day, every aspect in life and training. I thus won’t change unless things do. Every gamer runs across the same issue. If you do your best, we can use every player.
“I appreciate it; you can see it today on the bench—we miss a little pace to go, change the game, and switch components. First priority will be Keeper Coach Jorge Vital before a player lacking daily effort. I am not going to change.”
Amorim remarked before his forty-first birthday that he feels ten years older after a demanding first two months with the club.
Luck brought United three points at Craven Cottage. Lisandro Martinez’s late deflection winner in a low-key game was visitors’ only attempt on target.
Amorim has only won four league games since replacing Erik ten Hag in November; the 20-time top flight winners now struggle in mid-table.
” It’s not 40… I’m 50!” The BBC asked Amorim if the Fulham victory would make a suitable birthday present.
“50 at Manchester United two months from now.” Spending my forty-first birthday here makes me proud.
Important is the excitement of winning three points. The squad isn’t much improved now. “Winning shapes us.”
