Maresca emphasized the importance of Palmer to the team but did not rush to bring the star back so as not to push him to recover. “He is available to start. Everybody is pleased and the biggest thing is that Cole is pleased, the manager said.
The role that Palmer has played in Chelsea cannot be argued out. In 2023, he signed with PS40 million a deal with Manchester City and became the highest goalscorer in two consecutive seasons in the Premier League, with 22 goals in 2023-24 and 15 last season. Chelsea will be hoping that such attributes can shine again when they take on the leadership of the league with Arsenal.
Chelsea have a record of 10, one and two losses out of 13 games since the last time Palmer played against Manchester United in September. His reappearance will bring tactical options and new offensive strength before the London derby at Stamford Bridge.
