Ronaldo Urges Al-Hilal to Sign Man Utd Star

Al-Hilal has apparently been informed by Cristiano Ronaldo that in order for them to have Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes join ahead of the Club World Cup, they must sign him. At the end of 2022, the Portugal international left Man Utd under dubious circumstances with Erik ten Hag letting him depart and join Al Nassr on Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo spent two seasons at Old Trafford, rising to world class status under Sir Alex Ferguson between 2003 and 2009 before coming back in August 2021. The Portuguese star tore the team and everyone connected with it a new one, ending the second stay in tears.

With Al Nassr now fourth in the rankings, former Man Utd and Real Madrid forward Ronaldo has scored 25 goals in 30 Saudi Pro League games this campaign.

Ronaldo has scored goals somewhere he has been, but despite his 99 goals in 111 games since coming, the Saudi team only has the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023. Earlier in the week, Ronaldo seemed to be implying that he was departing Al-Nassr in a message on social media since he said his present “chapter is over”.

Writing on X, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said: “This chapter is ended. The narrative is… Currently under development. Thankyou to everyone.

On Friday, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna said Al-Nassr had not arrived at a “full agreement” allowing Ronaldo to remain a member of the Saudi Pro League team.
