Will Amorim Listen to Rooney on Donnarumma?

On Monday, international media said that Wayne Rooney, a Manchester United great, told Ruben Amorim to buy Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Donnarumma has revealed that he will leave PSG after manager Luis Enrique basically kicked him off the team for the Super Cup match against Crystal Palace. After former custodian David de Gea left, United is also having a hard time.

Rooney also talked about how United’s defence got better after they signed Edwin van der Sar, who took over for Roy Carroll and Tim Howard.

“I remember when Roy Carroll and Tim Howard were in goal. Rooney added, “I don’t think the defenders in front of those two goalkeepers trusted them 100 percent.”

“But as soon as [Edwin] Van der Sar came in and calmed everything down, the defenders trusted him a lot more, and you could see that they were playing better. And I believe that’s where Manchester United is right now.

“They want to be able to trust the custodian behind them and know where to go.”

Wayne Rooney said that it would be foolish for Manchester United not to go after Donnarumma.

“Sometimes all you need to do is stay calm and talk at the right times.” Onana has come in. He was a great keeper when I saw him play for Inter Milan, so you hope he can get back to that if they don’t find a new one.

“But he didn’t give us a lot of confidence last season. I guess he’s 26 with Donnaruma. He is one of the top goalkeepers in the world. If Manchester United didn’t go for him, it would be ridiculous.

Donnarumma was a key player for PSG last season, helping them win the Champions League for the first time and the treble.
