British media claimed on Tuesday that Manchester United have offered little under £74m (€85m) for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
Reports say the offer is £65m with £8.9m in performance-related add-ons. Newcastle United are also interested, but striker Alexander Isak’s future is uncertain after Liverpool’s inquiry.
Leipzig rejected Newcastle’s £65m offer with £4.3m in add-ons over the weekend, according to sources. Magpies submitted a revised £70million bid on Monday night. British media say Benjamin Sesko wants to play at Old Trafford next season. The Newcastle transfer is not fully rejected by him.
Considering the situation, Leipzig rested the Slovenian international in their Saturday friendly against Atalanta. Leipzig considers Newcastle and United’s proposals, while Sesko decides his future. Newcastle want to finalize the transaction within 48 hours or investigate other options.
Benjamin is a talented attacker, and Eddie Howe feels he can help him reach his potential. Howe has done that before, such with Alexander Isak, who joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad for £60m in 2022.
Isak scored 62 goals in 109 Magpies games. Before joining Newcastle, the Swede scored six goals in his final season at Real Sociedad.
